A private transfer between San José and Santa Teresa, about 5 to 6 hours including the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera.
There are two options:
Change vehicles at the ferry: your first driver takes you to the ferry terminal in Puntarenas. You buy a foot-passenger ticket at the terminal and cross the gulf with your luggage, and a second driver is waiting for you in Paquera to take you to Santa Teresa.
Same vehicle the whole way: the vehicle boards the ferry with you, your luggage stays inside, and you continue to Santa Teresa in the same vehicle. The ferry ticket is included. No changing vehicles and no carrying bags through the ferry terminal.
Pickup is available at San José Airport (SJO) or in downtown San José. At the airport, your driver tracks your flight and waits for you with a sign with your name as you walk out. The service also works the other way: the driver picks you up at your accommodation in Santa Teresa and takes you to San José Airport or downtown San José.
Trips for 1 to 4 people are in a modern SUV, such as a Toyota Fortuner or Prado. For more than 4 people, a van or bus can be arranged on request.

If you're traveling with a lot of luggage or surfboards, please mention it in the comments. The driver will stop along the way whenever you ask.
With the change-vehicles option, you buy your own foot-passenger ferry ticket at the Puntarenas terminal. Pickups in downtown San José are available; addresses outside downtown may change the price. With a lot of luggage, children or surfboards, the same-vehicle option is the easier choice. If you're traveling with children, add them when you book and the driver will bring child seats at no extra cost.
For trips to the airport, you choose your pickup time when you book. Leave plenty of time: drivers always stay within the speed limit and won't speed up to make up for a late start, so we can't be responsible if you arrive late for your flight.
